We continue our series looking back at the rapid-fire presentations during the #FireflySummit 2017, this week it’s the turn of MSK Podiatrist Glen Foley.
Glen’s presentation encourages us to look deeper into the condition of Adult Rotational Deformity in the lower limb.
The condition is common in children but tends to resolve over time with musculoskeletal maturity. However, rotational deformity in adults can present an interesting clinical picture and can have significant bearing on timing and moments of force around the muscles and bones associated with the affected joint(s).
Glen discusses where such rotational deformities appear in the anatomy, potential causes and how to perform effective clinical assessments without engaging CT or MRI scans. He also outlines the challenges of correcting the condition without surgical intervention.

Glen’s presentation is titled “Rotational Deformity of the Lower Limb, Identification and Implications”.
